Actually this demo was all recorded at A and R studios when Bob Gaudio came to NY to do some pre production work on the film. We had a full 2 days in the studio to record demos of both new songs and some of the songs already in the musical so they could have people audition to live tracks. The players on this are Robby Merkin Piano, Howard Joines Drums, Ira Siegel Guitar, Steve Gelfand Bass and I am playing the organ. There is also a demo of Mean Green Mother around somewhere that we did.

I'm reviving this.

Man, it's been over 30 years since the passing of the legendary Howard! If only he were here to see the final version of Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, and the soon-to-be 30 Lion King, it would've been more magical to see his reactions to these three movies! Thank you for bringing these four movies(Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King) to life for millions of people around the world and many more generations to come! Thank you for bringing Ariel's voice to life, making Beauty and the Beast memorable, Aladdin a magical tale and funny at the same time, and also making The Lion King one of the BEST Disney movies the world has ever seen! (well I know Howard didn't work on The Lion King, but the four movies mentioned, especially The Lion King are what REALLY made them amazing)

This has been neglected and it damn well shows

I hadn't listened to this in a long time. It's so beautiful and wistful. Of course if you listen to the lyrics within the context of what it would have been meant to do in the film(hype up his 3 buddies) the music makes no sense. But listen for what it really is, a letter to Howard Ashman in the wake of his loss, and it is truly stunning and heart breaking
